Craft your blues away

This past weekend i was busy busy busy. i like to be busy. So I've been wanting to make one of these for a very very long time. I've just been putting it off. So finally i got it together and made myself a needle roll. And it's all from extra fabric i had. So to the left is it all rolled up. It's a dark jean outside with some pretty green ribbon. I got the ribbon from my COT girls. We decided we all had much stash and should get rid of some of our own while saving money and getting new stuff. Stash exchanges are pretty fun. Ok back to the needle roll. i had an idea in my head what i wanted it to look like so i just kinda went from there. so on the right you see the flower fabric that i used for my humongo bag i made a while back. The Orange fabric i grabbed from the stash exchange. Now opened up is where it gets interesting. i wanted a tall pocket for the longer needles and also some wider pockets for the circular needles and short pockets for the DPN's and crochet hooks and other odds 'n ends. If you look closely i sewed in some safety pins for my stitch markers to hang on.. Most of them in the pix are from my sister. i have to say I'm proud of my work. It has room for more needles and rolls up pretty nice.
that's not all i finished this weekend. i finished the baby gifts i was making for my friend Kelly
but i can't show them to you until they arrive at her house. Then I'll share all the pretty pix. I also finished my DH felted slippers. They're drying right now. And i put some rug glue on the bottoms for traction so i have to wait for that to dry before turning them over and taking pix. Once they're dry I'll be snap snapping away!
Tonight i made sauce. I was gifted last week with some wonderful tomatoes and after eating tomatoes tomatoes and more tomatoes i still had some left over. There was enough to make one pint of sauce so i did just that. It's canned and ready for eating or storage. I'm glad it turned out really good. I tested some. Yum hopefully my DH will like it. though I'm not sure about him he's sooooo picky!
I'm also working on some ideas i had in my head. Just working on a few different projects that I'm really not going to share yet b/c if they don't turn out I'll be bummed and feel stupid. Anyways I'm off it's late and time for bed...

Thanks all around.

So first I wanted to say That I'm SOOOO sorry to Catherine. About two months ago we traded. I gave her 2 jars of Hot pepper jelly (and a real small one too) and she sent me... This.... Beautiful Box o yarn.
I know I don't even know how I forgot about it. That is until the clean up bug bit me last night. And I was straightening up my craft things. sooo inside the box was some lovely sock yarn. The beautiful Heather Neapolitan yarn and the pretty blue and green one that Catherine couldn't remember who it was from or it's name. I happily give it my home! I can't wait to knit it up but I'm working on finishing my socks and then I'll be doing a pair or so for Sock Wars... YES I'm in and sooo excited. (if you look on the side bar my fighting name is ullenasar)
so before I forget Catherine please please forgive me for taking so long to post about this beautiful yarn. Thank you sooo much for the trade I hope you enjoyed the jelly as much as I'm loving this yarn!
you're the best! Look at the pix they're kinda dark on the computer here but I took them at night! I am in love with pinks and browns. But my true love has always been blues and greens so these yarns just fit right in.
During my cleaning spree last night I put all my sock yarn into gallon ziplock bags b/c I've seen a moth or two flying around inside the house. (I think it's from the pushed out screen in the door you can guess who did that) so I'm not taking any chances. It's all zippered up and it gave me a chance to figure out which yarn I'll be killing my target with in sock wars.
I've finished all the presents I was knitting and just found out that Pam is expecting #4 sooo I'll be starting something again soon once I find out what she's having.
the past couple of months, I've been after my husband to let me Knit him some felted clogs. He finally said I could so I'm working on the 2nd one now.
This past week I got a package in the mail from my friend Danielle. What a great package inside was a note saying she found this yarn at a garage sale and couldn't pass it up, cause she thought of me.
How sweet. So inside it was a ton of yarn. Lovely lovely yarn. There is some blue mystery yarn and white cotton yarn and red yarn here's a pix on label.. I thought it was quite interesting. What do you think?
it says specially treated with Aloe. Soothes your hands as you knit.. LOL it truly doesn't feel any different. But I'll take their word for it. I've been teaching the bub how to crochet. So she's excited about the yarn too. What I'm PUMPED about is all the "off" white yarn. Its' 100% wool YES I've been wanting to dye some yarn I've actually been itching to do it! I'm soooo excited.
so thank you Dani! I love you and miss you tons! Now I've just got to get to the store and get some dyes.
anyways I do have more pix to share but I'll have to do that tomorrow this post is becoming a book. And I'm not sure if blogger will let me upload any more pix and I'm sure you're all sick of seeing them.
have a great night!

Soooo what up? Not too much here. I'm getting my fix of dark angel on the sci fi channel.. yep I'm sci fi freak. Well not totally just certain shows. Dark angel is one of them. I usually like watching the low budget horror/sci fi movies they show on the channel on the weekends.
anyways I'm almost done with the presents I've been working on that I can't show you. Believe me they're turning out wonderfully! I'll show pix soon. As soon as I finish and send them off. But to hold you over. The bub got a letter from a gal at school a couple of weeks ago. It was for a Flip-Flop exchange. So we had to copy the letter move the 2nd name to numero uno and put the bub's name in 2nd. Then send it to 6 friends and also send a pair of flip flops to name numero uno. So we bought some cheap flip-flops and some bernat boa yarn and put them together and voila we got fluffy, fuzzy flip flops. We sent them off, I hope the little girl who gets them likes them. I know my gals liked them I had to make some for both of them..

anyways speaking of making things I found a link to this wonderful craftster post from someone's blog but I can't remember who's. So if it was you thank you sooo much. I then took the "pattern" from the post and made the bub a new skirt. I decided to leave the edges out so they would fray and look neat. I used 3 pairs of jeans that she had worn holes in the knees. This is the result of the skirt. It's really cute and I am glad I was able to make her something out of the jeans I would've normally thrown away. It looks really cute on her. She has this thing where she always wants to wear dresses. So I've given in and I've been working on making and finding some clothes for her to wear to school.
so yeah that's about it. I'm out.

Crazytown.

This past week has flown by like a whirlwind! My mom and dad and my bro's were here visiting. We had a lot of fun. I do wish that they could've stayed longer. We took them on the Inclined plane. Here's a pix of my Bro's (the red heads) and Bubba and my DH. Sorry the pix is a little dark it was really bright out. Behind them you can see part of the city. I've also got a pix of my

parents. HI Mom and Dad! While they were here we explored a state park that's up above our house. It has a lot of hiking trails and we found a great swimming hole! Complete with a rope to swing out into the water with. Which we did a couple of times. I won't scare you with any pix of me doing that but take my word for it It was FUN! And just so you don't think that I'm leaving the booty out of this post. Here's a pix of her from the other night she's carrying around our kitten Simba In my basket. she loves that cat. He's really good with her and lets her do whatever. Though I'm always watching her so she doesn't hurt the crazy boy. Her hair is getting long isn't it?
I wish my family lived closer that would be awesome! So most of my family has visited in the past month. All that's missing is my older sister. She's busy though so that's ok. Hopefully for either Christmas or thanksgiving we'll get to see her.
anyways our week didn't end when my parents left. This weekend was the Pittsburgh Pirates game for Stitch N Pitch. OF course we went. It was great. Though not exactly what I'd expected. We were thinking we'd sit closer to the other knitters/crocheters/crossstitchers. They were close but not that close that we could sit and talk. I guess if you go you should sign up with other knitters from your local LYS. Which is what most of the knitters did. I unfortunately I haven't gone to a knitting night and I've been on a major yarn diet! So I just signed up from the website. I did get to meet many wonderful women at the little demo place. We also got some cool stuff. Look here's my goodies. My DH got a bag also since he paid for a ticket also.. Pretty cool! He may just learn how to knit or crochet also! The game was really good. The pirates swept the cardinals this weekend and totally shut them out this last game. My DH was happy!
Stupid blogger wasn't letting me do all the photos so I just added them in later. Hope you enjoy!
