well anyways enough of that. i've turned the 2nd heel of my 1st pair of socks YIPPIE only 1/4 the way to go! then i'm off to do a Go team sock for my DH i won't make the deadline (tonight) for the 6 sock KAL but that's ok i just joined it like a week or so ago. LOL i'm not a fast knitter yet. soon though soon! so my bumble bee looking sock yarn will become a sock for my DH i have to find red sock yarn to write Go Buc's for him... yes he likes the pirates. he's excited about it so i'm running with the feeling b/c hey whey your DH jumps on that bandwagon and ENABLES you to buy MORE yarn you gotta RUN WITH IT. so i'm off sometime this week to the LYS in amberg for some more yarn... i can't help it if i happen to get some different yarn to jump into my bag on the way out. and more Euro outta my wallet....LOL hey it's all for you honey! LOL (insert evil/crazy laugh here)

HA i dyed 2 more sock yarns and now i'm ready to take over the world with sock yarn! i will knit each and everyone of you up with sock yarn until you bend to my will. (HA HA HA HA *evil laugh here*) WHOOPS was that out loud? OH my.... anyways as i was saying Sock yarn.. i went ahead and finished off the 2 skeins i had left to dye... so the stripping worked better. a little that is... now i'm in the process of winding them into balls... which is kinda hard with out a swif. NOTE to self get swift! so the pix doesn't do the sock yarn justice it's much brigher and prettier! ah sock yarn...i have a ton of it it seems all of the sudden! LOL i don't mind though it just gives me reason to knit more socks. LOL

speaking of knitting more socks i just joined so it looks like i'll be knitting tons more socks so it's good that i stock up on sock yarn... LOL with that in mind i went to Amberg this weekend with my DH and look what i got!!

Yes that's more sock yarn. that single one is for some summer booties for my DD#2.... it's cotton so it's lighter than the wool. to make the purchase more acceptable *giggle* i bought my DH some yarn NOTE: not for him to knit with AS IF! ...LOL see the black and yellow. HE HE HE i also picked up some stuff for my SP5 but i'm not showing you! ! LOL i'm not giving it away. LOL i've gotta be sneaky about it! so does anyone else walk into their LYS and just stop and gaze at all the wonderful yarn and touch the yarn and wish the yarn was theirs? Good i didn't want to think i was crazy or something. not that the store worker lady minded she just said something to me in german that i gathered meant can i help you? or if you need me i'll be putting more yarn on the shelves for you to touch and caress... she could've been saying something else but i don't know. i was in ther for probably 1 hour just trying to figure out what to get. LOL it's amazing i walked out with what i did. if i could've i would've bought the whole store!
so i've not done too much knitting lately it's been like 87 degrees here! and i'm a little hot....not to mention it being a four day weekend for us military families, of course I'm SICK. throat an ears hurt....UGH! and the clinic isn't open till TUES. so i wait. i have started a Toe up sock for my DH with the above pitt's yarn.... it's pretty ackward knitting with DPNs on a toe up at first. it's getting easier. maybe it's just me.... am i all thumbs? something to ponder.... well i'm off to knit some... yeah pure joy!

Well let’s just say that I like yarn that is soft to the touch and feel good on the skin. So touch it first and if you’d like it next to your skin than I’m sure I probably would. Most of the red heart is scratchy. Lion brand isn’t so bad. Their super saver stuff is out though.
2. Do you spin? Crochet?
I do crochet. I would like to learn how to spin also!
3. Do you have any allergies? (smoke, pets, fibers, perfume, etc.)

4. How long have you been knitting?
A little over a year ago is when i caught the bug....

I like most music.

I like most colors . The other day I saw some beautiful brown but I also like bright colors!

uh to raise my children to be the best them they can be. I would really love to open a yarn/coffee store with my Sister ( I love coffee and yarn! they go so well together!)

lately I’ve been stuck collecting patterns for socks and I’m working on my first pair. And I have been getting TONS of sock yarn. Also booties for my DD#2 b/c they knit up super quick! And I love felted bags.

anything really I just love knitting.

a miss dashwood from knittty.com, a pair of socks for a friend, a pair of booties, a ruffels scarf for a friend, I’m planning a small felted camera bag b/c if i drop my camer one more time it's going to break! eek!

They’re nice…so to say i don't hate them... though that martha one is UGLY!

It depends on the project. If it’s socks DPN’s if it’s a scarf sraight, if it’s a bag circular.
20. Bamboo, aluminum, plastic?
I like bamboo and aluminum for DPN’s. for sraight I like aluminum and plastic They help me knit faster! with bamboo i feel like i'm going to snap them or something... (I’d like to try those bright colored hooks and needles from herrschners) for circ’s it depends on the join! I don’t care too much for the bad joiners b/c they catch my yarn!
21. Are you a sock knitter?
Just doing/finishing my first pair! I’m def a sock knitter!

I taught myself! I love it so much

A sweater I started for my DD#1 but it was so boring all that ST stitch. So It’s been sitting there for a year. I may frog it to make something else but the jury is still out on that….

I love scooby doo. I used to watch it all the time. I don’t like the series with scrappy he’s annoying. The new ones are ok but they’re missing something….
I also LOVE sponge bob!!! It hilarious. I’m always quoting it. LOL (you know you have yonger kids when you go around quoting spongebob!)
I also like Sailor Moon. I’ve got the first series on DVD it’s something I started watching after school with my bro and sis it was the best!

I love to give gifts! So any really! I esp like Christmas and Easter.

shake your booty

So Renee asked me to show maddy wearing her poncho so i had her go put it on... and took some pix. i really liked this one b/c she was fooling around and looks so cute!
i forgot to mention i made it in caron simply soft color watermelon! it's super soft! so on to that booty. i'm not shaking mine! but look at the booty i got!

Yup that's what i got! so that's like 60 packets of koolaid! i found coupons for buy 10 get 2 free. i used 5 of them! so i dyed 2 skeins of color your own yarn from knitpicks. so while i washed and let the yarn soak for 30 min i let the girls play in the pool!

then i got down to buisness. here's my first skein.... it's the one on the left in the pix at the end.
NOTE to self and anyone else dying yarn stay away from purple and red they TAKE over! or use them together...... i have to figure out how to make the stripes stay themselves....

for my 2nd skein i tried something a little different like dying in the microwave dish... it worked better at keeping the colors from running!
I think the next time i dye i'll use blues and green separate from purple and red...and orange....

so here's the finished products drying...

the 2nd one kept it's stripes better the 1st one like i said the red and purple kinda took over. if anyone who's done the stripes knows how to keep them from running please leave me a coment! LOL i'm sure as I go i'll figure it out!
well that was my adventure maddy says my yarn smells like jelly beans! that's better than the wet wool smell! LOL

YARN ROCKS!!

Yippie! I got my Knit Picks order! look what I got!

so I got some color your own sock yarn! and some natural Peruvian wool that I plan on dying and making my own special colored felted bag! I'm super excited! and then some sock garden yarn star gazer lily and daffodil. Does anyone know it just one skein makes a pair of socks? how about for the color your own? I wanna know before I go and dye my yarn so I know if I should do 2 at the same time for color likeness. so I'm on a quest in my pantry to find some koolaid. LOL I probably only have grape or lime left b/c those are the two we don't like to drink! well I do like purple and green together.... I printed out instructions from Knitty and here. so I think I'm ready..... YIPPIE!
so bella started crawling today! LOL it's funny we've been watching her and waiting for it! LOL she's also started pulling up on things a couple of weeks ago but lately she's gotten really bad about pulling up to try and get things off the coffee table. so needless to say it's helping us keep stuff off of there! it's pretty cute to see her do it though. even though DH gets annoyed I laugh. it's so cute! well a hunting I go... koolaid beware!

What did you say?

so bella makes the funniest faces sometime. it cracks me up so i took a pix of her talking back to us! it's pretty cute! she's such a sweetie! ok so today i finished the booties and i have 2 pix for you to look at...this first one is so that you can see how fuzzy they are. they are soft. i made them with a recycled yarn so it's really soft and bumpy.

this second pix is so you can see what they look like i'm pleased with how they turned out. i think though i may try knitting instead of making the bumpy part on the top of the foot. and i plan on making more in different colors they didn't take that long to knit up so they can be made in different colors very fast! i may make a black pair so she can wear them with anything!

so i have people coming over for a farewell party for my friend Kelly. SNIF....

one down, one and a half to go...

Man I got it back! big Props to Stan the Man! My friend anna's DH was able to give me back my knitting bag! we stopped by before we went to Pam's house to drop off dinner for her and her famiy. (you see she just had a baby! so we want her to rest!) then we made our way over to Grafenwhoer to see Star Wars 3.. it was really good! i loved it! even though the guy 2 rows infront of me had the HUGEST head ever! and i had to move to see the screen around him.. like i would look halfway then move and look at the other half. and i'm not that short of a gal. anyways it was good and i look forward to watching it when I am at home with out a big old head in my way.

so back to my knitting bag, it's kinda small and i plan on using it until i can make another one... i'm thinking of those neato ones like found here or here. i 've just gotta find some cool fabric that or make a felted one... the jury is still out on that.. LOL

Purple knitted booties

well that's what this is going to be when i'm done...

pretty color huh? i found the pattern online somewhere and now i'm not sure where. i'm making them for bella b/c she's still too small to wear shoes... and i like the booties! i have this idea in my head. you see my friend Liesy has 2 sons and her Grandmother knitted them booties in all colors and sizes for their sweet feet. now i would've asked her grandma for a pattern but she speaks German and is getting on in life. and Liesy said she doesn't knit them from a pattern. so i've been looking for a pattern for booties close to the ones i saw the boys wearing and i think i've found one. well i tweeked the pattern a bit to get what i wanted. and i'm still not sure it's what i wanted. we'll see when i'm done! that's what i want to be like when i'm old knitting from memory! not needing a pattern how cool is that?
ok so lately i've been really down. you see my best friend Kelly is moving back to the states. SNIF! and double snif. so i've been getting down. i mean it's not like i didn't expect it. but still it sucks. so not only that but my friend Danielle has been working a lot lately and i've not been able to spend time with her! so i've been kinda crabby. and i really can't put into words what i'm feeling. i'm sad but also so much more! anyways Tonight we're going to this great restarunt Steak on the Stone. i've never been there but Kelly and her DH has and everyone says it's awesome. we'll see tonight. then on Sat everyone and i mean everyone! is coimng over here for a BBQ to say goodbye. i'm so sad. so my sadness has been coming out in my knitting. (i think) I keep on starting new projects and thinking of more to start! LOL

she's eating sand!?

ok so as i sit down to type this my dear little bella is eating sand! yup that's right she's found maddy's shoe dumped out the sand from the playground that we keep in there and then proceeded to eat it! YUM!
So is it normal that I'm obsessed with knitting? I bring it every where and I'm always thinking about it! I also dream about knitting. I am SO serious! I've mastered reading blogs and knitting at the same time but not the sleeping and knitting. (i seriously was thinking about optimizing my time like that.... crazy i know) lol so I've got it bad. Real bad! But it's not like I mind.......of course not i'm crazy!

I've been teaching my friend Kristy how to knit. She's doing a good job. I'm not sure I'm hat great of a teacher though. But doing that has got me thinking about taking those classes from The Craft Yarn Council of America. but i'm not sure about that yet... what do you think?
I got as a RAOK, a while ago, some egg dye and I've been seeing all these people dying their yarn but I'm trying to finish some projects before buying more yarn.. so you see my dilemma. I have some white yarn but my dd wants a white and pink poncho. So It's for her unless I can convince her to only have a pink poncho HMMM I may try to do that. well I'm off to go find somewhere for a guide to dying yarn with egg dye. If you have any suggestions/sites LMK i would really appreciate it!
Btw I added a counter to my site and I wanted to thank everyone for their teething tips! I appreciate it! I did use the frozen washcloth idea but I'm too chicken to try the pickle! I'm just a big wuss! anyways i've been working on that sock i'm doing it so well. and so much faster with DPN's rather than the 2 circs. it just made more sense this way to me esp with the heel! LOL Well off to do the TOE on my sock! I'm soooo pumped my 1st sock to be completed with out dropping the stitches! On to the next one! YIPPIE! Such a milestone for me!

can you smell that?

I've been really bad about reading blogs and not leaving comments so i've made myself leave comments. i plan on continuing until it's a habit again.. i' don't know where i get so lazy. wait i do know and it's my DH. now that he's home i want to spend as much time as i can with him! i know he's been home almost 3 months i just like him ok get off my back! gesh it's not that weird that after 6 1/2 years i still am madly in love with him.... and i fall more in love each and every day! sick i know! lol well he does piss me off too! but we work that out. blah blah blah all that was brought to you today b/c on sunday we had a sunday school lesson on how men and women should act in marriage. and most of it we've heard before and i was kinda pissy about some of it just hearing the same stuf over and over again get's annoying. but really it's probably b/c i need to work on it. and also yes i'm PMSing! so really it was all me and my tude so i'm trying to have a better one. anyways on to the stuff you really want to read about. i'm still sick i can't smell or taste really. NO i'm kidding on to the pix
i've made progress! and that's only like 3 days worth of knitting. this is the replacement sock for the other one i was attempting.

yes i know i'm a slow knitter but i've got a 7 month old teething who's clingy so i do actually get a lot done. i wanted to type more but the teether is screaming i'm sure you can hear it and it's hurting the ears i'll go and appease her now! happy knitting. i'll be sleeping.

RAOK and a concert too!

So Renee sent me a RAOK! she saw that i'd lost my tin of all my knitting notions so she sent me some replacements.... but to my lost little ones you will always have a place in my heart. the new stuff is great. i'm really fascinated with the tape measure! it's great! and round with a button! lol
she also included some knitting note cards! pretty awesome! THANKS RENEE!

sorry those pix were not that great though i thought i would keep them that way so you can see how I've been feeling the past few days with my head in a bubble from this cold. which by the way I still am NOT over! i can't smell therefore i can't taste either... so sad is life when you can't smell! it's really weird. i know that coffee should taste like coffee but all i can do is feel the warmth. weird! ok so i know you're looking at this pix..

well we were far back and i used my super zoom and that's the best pix i could get. but i promise it's him. now i'm not a huge country fan but my DH is so we had fun. Oh did i mention why we were at this concert. well it was a Welcome Home celebration for the soldiers. and it was a FREE concert for all US ID card holders! Pretty cool there was Blessed Union of Souls, and Christopher Titus there also. they gave away a Harley too! pretty fun there were free carnival rides for the Kiddos too! all in all pretty neat! so it started (for us) about 5:45 and we came home about 11 or so! it was fun! a nice way to welcome home all the soldiers here!
well you know you've done something right when your DD#1 says (around 9) i'm tired and you lay the stroller back and let her lay down and she's ASLEEP! thru all the noise no problem!

then around 10 DD#2 is asleep... pretty crazy huh?

anyways that's what i've been up to! well i forgot to mention that sock i've been working for well.....i dropped a TON and i mean a TON of stitches and the yarn i was using sucked so i frogged it and started another(with different yarn!). it's going soooo much better now! looks much nicer too! i think when i finish a pair it will fit much better for my friend.
NOW WHY do people stare? i mean really. i was knitting at that concert, and people were just staring at me... really why? it's not that weird that i don't want to just sit around doing nothing so get over yourselves. that's my message to the non knitting public. and i know that everyone listens to me!!!
did i mention i signed up for the ultra secret truly troublesome Knitterati? yes i DO want to RULE the world! i'm waiting to get in! HA HA HA (EVIL LAUGH)

isn't she wonderful? i def think so! she sent me some wonderful yarn some noro you see on the left then some pretty WW yarn and then some sock yarn (i don't remember the names off hand and i'm not getting up to go see sorry) i can't wait to get started with it all! also you'll see some nice smelly pump kitchen soap from bath and bodyworks also a nice set made from goat's milk and oatmeal(it's the yellow box)! i can't wait to use it and a stamp with a smiley sunshine face! i just knew i need to start stamping again! sooo nice! and those green things are tags to attach to my knitted gifts! how awesome is that???? i thought so too!
well i'm still on the mend from that horrible cold i caught... so i'll chat at ya'll later gaters...

just a little post

So sat was the SP4 reveal and i emailed my SP4 but i've not heard from her.
sat was also our Secret Sister reveal at my church. my SS was sick but here's a pix of the knitted goodies i made her. 2 washcloths, a bath mit and a soap bag or what ever.....

here's the soap bag close up. i'd knitted a washcloth with a tiny cables pattern but it was too small so i sewed up the sides and added a handle so she could put a bar of soap in there and then suds it up! i got the patterns here

i also adorned the card with this felted flower i made. i had some extra wool and crochet pattern for a flower that i embelished a bit...so here it is...

i'm not sure if she liked it b/c she was sick....
i hope she does like it!
i've been sick today so i'm off to veg on the couch....
nothing serious just a bad cold!
